How to connect Wi-Fi smart light bulb to Google

Assistant

1. Preparation before installation

• A Google Home device.

• A well installed and powered on IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb.

• Stable and accessible Wi-Fi environment.

• An IOS/Android smart device.

• Latest Google Home app and related account.

• Smart Life app and a related account.

2. Connecting your IOS/Android devices to the Wi-Fi (e.g. Apple Device).

You can skip this step if your IOS/Android devices already successfully connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Press the “Home” button, then click “Setting”, and enter into the “WLAN”.

Choose the WLAN name you want to connect to and enter the password accordingly and “Join” the internet.

Now your IOS device is access to the Wi-Fi now for operating.

Please note: for the first time connection, both your SMAlux Bluetooth smart bulb and IOS/Android devices should be in the same Wi-Fi network.

3. Set up Smart Life

You can skip this part if you have already add some devices to your Smart Life account, and at the same time the devices’ name are easily recognized.

3.1 Download Smart Life app

You can scan the QR code below to download the Smart Life app:

You can also search “Smart Life” in either App Store or Google Play to install the app.

Please note: Smart Life app available in following devices for operation:

3.2 Register and sign in Smart Life app

Open the Smart Life app, allow “Smart Life” to use data and access to your location.

Tap “Register” button and “Agree” the privacy policy of Smart Life Platform to continue.

Choose the country where you are, enter mobile number or email, and then input the verification code (be valid for 60 seconds) you have received in your mobile phone or email.

Finally set a password to complete the registration step.

3.3 Add Home

Keep your account sign in, click the blue button “Add Home”, set your home name and location, and choose the room where IOTLUX Wi-Fi bulb installed for control.

You can also create a room name as you like.

Hit the “Done” button on the upper right corner and bring out the screen shows “Home added successfully”.

3.4 Add devices

Click “Add Device” on the screen, press the “All” button on the upper right corner in the selection page and choose “Lighting Devices”.

Power on the IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb and confirm that bulb blinks rapidly.

Enter Wi-Fi password and confirm to proceed.

Please make sure your IOS/Android device is close to the router for fast connection.

Now the IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb has successfully complete the connection.

4. Set up Google Home

You can skip this step if your Google Home is already set up.

4.1 Install Google Home

Search “Google Home” in either App Store or Google Play, download and install the app.

Please note: the Google Home app requires IOS 10.0+ smart devices.

4.2 Register and sign in Google Home

Hit the “Google Home” icon, open the app and press the bottom right corner button “GET STARTED”.

You can directly sign in if you already have a valid Google Account.

If you do not have a Google account before, follow the instruction to create a new Google account.

• Filling the basic information and create a Gmail address with unique user name.

• Input a strong password and go “Next”.

• You can add a phone number to reset your password in case of forgetting or skip it directly.

• Agree with the “Privacy and Terms”.

Now you have complete the registration of Google Home with valid Google account.

4.3 Add IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb in Google Home

Back to home page, click “+” to add IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb, then hit the “Set up device” to set up page, and proceed to “Works with Google”.

Search “Smart Life” in the page and type your Smart Life account to authorize Google Home to obtain the data from IOTLUX Life app.

Assign rooms for Google Home app, then the IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb will be listed in the Google Home page.

Please note: the number of smart devices added in the Google Home app is unlimited.

4.4 Add Google Assistant in Google Home app

Power on Google Assistant, and open Google Home app, click “+” to add IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb, hit the “Set up device” to set up page, and tap “Set up new devices” enable the app to search for Google Assistant

Choose a room and go next, it requires you to turn on both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to looking for the Google Assistant nearby.

Now your Google assistant will show in the list, tap “YES” to continue.

Once connected, there will be a sound test to make sure it connected in the right way.

Click “YES” if you heard the sound.

Then choose the room you gonna to use the Google Assistant and create a unique name if you like and go “Next”.

Choose the Wi-Fi and type the password to allow the connection.

“Save” the password and go next.

Now the Google Assistant setup is finished.

Please note: make sure the Google Assistant, IOS/Android devices and IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb are all in the same Wi-Fi environment for successful connection.

5. Voice control via Google Assistant

Now you can control your IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb through Google Assistant.

Take bedroom light as an example, the supported voice commands are as below:

• Ok Google, turn on/off bedroom light.

• Ok Google, set bedroom light to 50 percent.

• Ok Google, brighten bedroom light.

• Ok Google, dim bedroom light.

• Ok Google, set bedroom light to red
