How to connect IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb to Amazon Alexa
1. Preparation before installation
Stable and available Wi-Fi network.
An Echo device, including Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus, etc.
An amazon account.
An IOS/Android smart device.
2. Connecting your IOS/Android devices to the Wi-Fi (e.g. Apple Device).
You can skip this step if your IOS/Android devices already successfully connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Press the “Home” button, then click “Setting”, and enter into the “WLAN”.
Choose the WLAN name you want to connect to and enter the password accordingly and “Join” the internet.
Now your IOS device is access to the Wi-Fi now for operating.
Please note: for the first time connection, both your IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart bulb and IOS/Android devices should be in the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Connecting IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb to IOTLUX App
You can skip this part if you already assigned some smart devices in the IOTLUX app.
3.1 Download IOTLUX app
You can scan the QR code below to download the IOTLUX App.
You can also search “IOTLUX” in the Google Play or App Store to download the free application.
IOS version download: App Store
Android version download: Google Play
Please note: Make sure IOS/Android devices are compatible with IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb.
Update the operation system of Apple devices to IOS 8.0 or above
Update the operation system of Android devices to Android 4.1 or above.
3.2 Register a IOTLUX account
You can skip this part if you have already registered and add some devices to your IOTLUX account.
Press the home key and back to the home page, open the IOTLUX App, tap “Register”.
Choose the country where you are and type your mobile phone or email in the page for registration.
Mobile phone register: enter your phone number, then you will receive a verification code on your phone (be available for 60 seconds only), and input the verification and password to complete the registration.
E-mail register: enter your email and input password to complete the registration.
3.3 Connecting IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb to the Wi-Fi
Sign in with the IOTLUX account, tap “+” on the top right corner to add a device.
Select device type, here is the “Lighting Devices”.
Add device, make sure the IOTLUX Wi-Fi light bulb is powered on and blinks rapidly so that the App can search the bulb nearby automatically.
Please note: In case of the bulb is not at its initial status but keep on without blinking, you can turn on and turn off for several times till its flashing quickly.
Enter Wi-Fi password and confirm to proceed.
Now the IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb has already connected to the Wi-Fi successfully.
Please note: the IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb currently can only support the 2.4GHz band Wi-Fi network.
3.4 Modify the device’s name
After you managed to add the device, get into the device panel, tap the “…” on the upper right corner, then change device name to an easily recognized word or phrase, like bedroom light.
4. Set up Amazon Echo with Alexa app
You can skip this part if your Echo is already well set up.
4.1 Download Amazon Alexa app
You can search “Alexa App” in the App Store or Google Home to download.
You can also set up the Amazon Echo on web since Alexa app is only available in USA and Canada:

4.2 Register and sign in Alexa app
If you already have an amazon account, tap the Alexa icon to open the app on phone, type your amazon account information and then input the verification code on your phone to sign in successfully.
If you do not have an amazon account, you need to type your user name, email address and password to create a new account, then select the country you live in and continue to successfully sign in.
4.3 Add devices in Alexa app
Tap the hamburger menu “…” on the upper left corner, selecting “Settings”, and then click “ Set up a new device”.
Select your Echo model, choose a proper language, and click “Connect to Wi-Fi” button.
Long press the dot button on the top of your Echo device until the orange light shows up, then tap “Continue”.
“Allow” the IOS/Android smart phone link to Echo’s hotspot automatically.
When your phone is connected to Echo, tap “Continue”.
Now the Echo has been successfully added in the Alexa app.
Select a Wi-Fi to enable the Echo to connect to the internet.
Input the Wi-Fi password, then press “Continue” button.
It will take several minutes for connection.
Tap “Continue” on screen when Echo is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network.
After a short introduction video, tap the blue button “Continue” below to complete the setup.
5. Connect IOTLUX account to Echo
Click hamburger menu “…” on the upper left corner, choose “Skills” and then search “IOTLUX”.
Select “IOTLUX” and tap “Enable” to enable the Smart Life Skill.
You will be redirected to the account link page.
Type your IOTLUX account and password, don’t forget to select the country/region where your account belongs to.
Then tap “Link Now” to link your IOTLUX account.
When “Alexa has been successfully linked with IOTLUX” shows up, tap “×” on the top right corner.
6. Voice control your IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb
6.1 Discover devices.
Echo need to discover the SMAlux Wi-Fi smart light bulb before it controls them.
You can say “Alex, discover devices” to Echo.
Then Echo will discover devices which have already been added in the Smart Life app.
You can also tap “Discover devices” to discover the IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb.
Discovered devices will be shown in the list.
6.2 Control devices by voice commands
Now you can control your smart devices through Echo.
You can use the following commands to control your IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb. (E.g. bedroom light).
Alexa, turn on/off bedroom light.
Alexa, set bedroom light to 50 percent.
Alexa, brighten/increase bedroom light.
Alexa, dim/decrease bedroom light.
You can control IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb with only one command in Alexa app.
Tap “Create Group”, give your group a name like “Smart Home Lights”, select devices and add them in this group, then tap “Save”.
Now you can control your IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb in a group.
Try saying “Alexa, turn on smart home lights”, then all the lights are turned on!
How to connect IOTLUX Bluetooth smart light bulb to Google Assistant
1. Preparation before installation
A Google Home device.
A hub.
A well installed and powered on IOTLUX Bluetooth smart light bulb.
An IOS/Android smart device.
Latest Google Home app and related account.
2. Open Bluetooth on your IOS/Android devices
In order to connect the SMAlux Bluetooth smart light bulb to Google Assistant, Bluetooth must be turned on all the time.
Turn on Bluetooth on IOS devices.
Hit the “Home” button to home page, tap “Setting” icon.
Click “Bluetooth” on the setting screen.
Tap the ON/OFF dot to turn on or turn off Bluetooth.
Close the setting and complete.
You can also directly slide on the bottom of your phone screen and tap the Bluetooth icon to turn on.
Turn on Bluetooth on Android devices.
Back to home page, select “Setting”.
Press the Bluetooth icon.
Slide the dot to right to “ON”.
Close the setting and complete.
You can also slide on the top edge of your phone screen and directly click the Bluetooth symbol to activate.
3. Install Google Home
You can skip this step if your Google Home is already set up.
Search “Google Home” in either App Store or Google Play, download and install the app.
Please note: the Google Home app requires IOS 10.0+ smart devices.
4. Register and sign in Google Home
Hit the “Google Home” icon, open the app and press the bottom right corner button “GET STARTED”.
4.1 Already have a Google Account
You can directly sign in if you already have a valid Google Account.
4.2 Register new Google Account
If you do not have a Google account before, follow the instruction to create a new Google account.
Filling the basic information and create a Gmail address with unique user name.
Input a strong password and go “Next”.
You can add a phone number to reset your password in case of forgetting or skip it directly.
Agree with the “Privacy and Terms”.
Now you have complete the registration of Google Home with valid Google account.
Please note: the number of smart devices added in the Google Home app is unlimited.
5. Set up Google Assistant
Power on Google Assistant, and open Google Home app, click “+” to add IOTLUX Wi-Fi smart light bulb, hit the “Set up device” to set up page, and tap “Set up new devices” enable the app to search for Google Assistant
Choose a room and go next, it requires you to turn on both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to looking for the Google Assistant nearby.
Now your Google assistant will show in the list, tap “YES” to continue.
Once connected, there will be a sound test to make sure it connected in the right way.
Click “YES” if you heard the sound.
Then choose the room you gonna to use the Google Assistant and create a unique name if you like and go “Next”.
Choose the Wi-Fi and type the password to allow the connection.
“Save” the password and go next.
Now the Google Assistant setup is finished.
6. Add IOTLUX Bluetooth smart light bulb in Google Home.
Well screw the IOTLUX Bluetooth smart light bulb and plug in the hub, then power on.
In the “Setting” page, click the smart device Google Assistant you have added in the Google Home.
Tap “Adding” to add devices in the menu and it will search for the available bulbs nearby.
Tap the found bulbs and complete the setup.
Change the bulb name to an easy recognized one, like “Bedroom Light”.
7. Voice control via Google Assistant
Now you can control the SMAlux Bluetooth smart light bulb with your voice, below are some examples of voice command:
Ok Google, turn on/off bedroom light.
Ok Google, set bedroom light to 50 percent.
Ok Google, brighten bedroom light.
Ok Google, dim bedroom light.

Tap the hamburger menu on the top left corner, select “Settings”, then tap device you want to voice control the bulb.
Tap “Bluetooth” and choose “Pair a New Device” to searching available devices automatically.
Tap the searched one to pair and change the name to an easy recognized one, like “Bedroom Light” and finish the connection.
7. Voice control via Amazon Echo
You can use voice to control the SMAlux Bluetooth smart light bulb now, here are some commands for example:
Alexa, turn on/off bedroom light.
Alexa, set bedroom light to 50 percent.
Alexa, brighten/increase bedroom light.
Alexa, dim/decrease bedroom light.
